Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Radar Modeling Engineer to join the Radar System Model/Software Development team in Huntsville, AL. You will develop high-fidelity RF models and integrate them into simulation architectures to support EW and defense analysis.

The role requires strong C++, DSP fundamentals, modeling & simulation experience, and MATLAB or Python proficiency, with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship and relocation to North Alabama are expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Strong background in C++ and/or OO programming.
• Understands digital signal processing.
• Experience with modeling and simulation systems.
• Familiar with MATLAB or Python (or other simulation tools).
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• US Citizen.
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.

Leidos is seeking a talented Radar Modeling Engineer for Radar System Model/Software Development to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving foreign weapon systems. Leidos has offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, and we provide responsive, cost-effective intelligence, engineering, scientific, and IT solutions. In this role, you will join a team developing radar system software models supporting radio frequency (RF) and Electronic Warfare (EW) projects for the Defense Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Communities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Development of analytic to high-fidelity models of RF systems to support EW analysis.
• Development and integration into real-time and non-real-time simulation architectures.
• Assessing effects of operator-in-the-loop on radar and missile weapons system simulations.
• Development of threat models to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking, signal processing, and closed-loop missile behavior.
• Simulation and Graphical User Interface (GUI) development in Windows and Linux.
• Testing, verification, and documentation of development and analysis efforts.

Qualifications:

• Candidate mustpossessaBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Candidate must have a graduating GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Candidate must have a proficient background in C++ and/or object-oriented programming.
• Candidate musthave an understanding ofdigital signal processing.
• Candidate must have experience with modeling and simulation systems.
• Candidate must have familiarity with MATLAB or Python (or other simulation tools).
• Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Candidate mustdemonstraterelevant skills in one or more of the focus areas and have the ability/desire to work in a highly technical team to solve challenging problemsutilizinga broad spectrum of skills.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing torelocateto the Huntsville, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additionalconsideration will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of radar fundamentals and electronic warfare.
• Experience with any of the following concepts is preferred, but notrequired: agile scrum, RF, weapons system analysis, graphics and displays, and real-time operating systems.
• Experience with any of the following tools is preferred, but notrequired: Microsoft Visual Studio,CMake, Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.) Git, Bash orPowershell, and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) or other similar tools.

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
