Job summary

Sabre Systems is actively seeking a RADAR Engineer (Journeyman) to support the MH-60R/S helicopter sensor systems at Patuxent River, MD. The engineer will provide expertise in RADAR and acoustics, with additional duties spanning AMCM, FLIR, and EO/IR systems throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include system integration, documentation, and risk assessment, with on-site work and occasional travel. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD clearance or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in a technical/scientific field from an accredited institution.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in a related labor category.
• Experience with RADAR systems is highly preferred.
• Experience with acoustic sensor systems is highly preferred.
• Experience with FLIR and EO/IR is preferred.
• AMCM experience is preferred.
• Strong DoD/Naval Aviation systems integration background.
• Ability to prepare/review engineering docs, specs, and risk assessments.
• Active DoD Secret or higher clearance or ability to obtain one.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support system integration, risk management, configuration management, and flight clearance activities.
• Develop technical documentation and reviewer feedback for technical reviews and SOWs/CDRLs.
• Collect and summarize data for technical reports and stakeholder briefs.

Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting a RADAR Engineer (Journeyman) to support the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office (PMA 299) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will primarily provide RADAR engineering expertise supporting the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) for MH-60R/S helicopter sensor systems. This engineer will secondarily provide technical support in acoustics, Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM) and EO/IR systems. The candidate will support the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle for various mission systems to include Acoustic sensors, Radar, FLIR, and EO/IR systems. Work location is on-site in the Program Office spaces in Building 2272. Travel requirements are approximately two trips a year for a total of two weeks.

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Provide RADAR engineering expertise supporting the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) for MH-60R/S helicopter sensor systems.


• Identify, diagnose and develop solution for modern complex systems engineering issues focused on acoustics and sensors to include but not limited to the AN/AQS-22 Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS) dipping sonar systems, the Digital Magnetic Anomaly Detection (DMAD), the MH-60R Multi-Spectral Targeting System (MTS), and the Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR).


• Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.


• Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.


• Apply systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, engineering change proposals, flight clearances/airworthiness, configuration management, risk management, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.


• Analyze, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.


• Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, and other technical documentation.


• Review and prepare and process engineering change proposals (ECPs).


• Review and prepare technical documentation for Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events and lead SETR events as required.


• Facilitate the development of SOWs and CDRLs.


• Gather, analyze, document, and manage technical and performance requirements from all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.


• Summarizing data, observations, and findings to support the preparation of technical documents, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.


• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, program offices, contractors, and external agencies.


• Prepare clear, concise, technical documents, including gap analyses, plans, and regular status reports/briefings.

Qualifications:

• Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university


• At least seven (7) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description is required.


• Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.


• Demonstrated experience with RADAR systems is highly preferred.


• Demonstrated experience with acoustic sensor systems is highly preferred.


• Demonstrated experience with FLIR and Electro-Optical/Infra-Red is preferred.


• Experience in Airborne Mine-Countermeasures (AMCM) is preferred.


• Strong background in systems integration of mission systems within a DoD or Naval Aviation environment.


• Must have experience preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, specifications, and technical risk assessments for acoustics or sensor systems.


• Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher


• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $130,577.00 - $144,991.00
