Job Summary

Performs a variety of radiographic procedures applying ionizing radiation.

Essential Functions

  1. All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  2. Demonstrates competency in performing ERCPs, video fluoroscopies, OR procedures, lumbar punctures, bronchoscopies, enterocolitis, sialograms, rhizotomies, facet blocks, endoscopy-tube placements or injections, T-tube cholangiograms, major trauma/trauma bay, neonatal ICU, pacing lab, and other critical care procedures. Troubleshoots equipment issues and assesses patient condition to determine appropriate care, notifying nursing staff as needed. Ensures image quality before sending to radiologist, includes proper markers and pertinent information, and documents in PACS or EPIC. Responds appropriately to codes and emergencies. Keeps abreast of organizational updates via email.
  3. Promotes patient care and safety, ensuring smooth workflow, proper equipment use, and positive relationships with staff, physicians, and patients. Communicates delays to patients and families.
  4. Performs quality checks on images, documents additional information, and manages charges and system operations post-procedure.
  5. Achieves patient satisfaction goals, adhering to Prisma Health's patient experience standards.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, manager, or director.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiology program.
  • No experience required; grandfathered status for staff as of 11/08/2020 pending regulatory compliance.

Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

  • ARRT Registered
  • SCRQSA - Radiography
  • CPR certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Customer service and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment and proficient in computer skills (word processing, data entry, PACS, EMR)
