Job summary

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

RADIOLOGY

  • Supports Operating Room by providing Radiology guidance for cases. Knowledgeable of all aspects of OR to include Radiology protocols and equipment.
  • Provides on-call support for Operating Room by participating in mandatory call rotation.
  • Trouble-shoots equipment related issues as needed and reports any issues as they occur to appropriate leadership.
  • Inserts intravenous lines in preparation for radiologic studies.
  • Performs imaging for myelograms and therapeutic chemotherapy, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium.
  • May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required. Sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures.
  • Provides assistance with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and In-Patient areas.
  • Performs portable x-ray imaging as ordered.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the duties listed above, all Registered Radiologic Technologists will be required to perform the following:

  • Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologists. Performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with specific operating instructions and safety standards.
  • Determines proper technical factors and adjusts radiographic equipment accordingly.
  • Assesses patient condition throughout procedure and observes for adverse reactions. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.
  • Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel.
  • Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

PREFERRED:

  • Prior experience in diagnostic radiology.
  • Prior experience in Operating Room procedures.
Work Hours:

7AM-7:30PMx2, 7AM-3:30PMx2
