Job summary

Patewood Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC is seeking a Radiology Technologist. You will perform radiographic procedures and assist in ERCPs, fluoroscopy, OR procedures, and injections to support accurate imaging.

You will demonstrate competency in arthrograms and other imaging studies, document findings in PACS/EPIC, and assist with patient assessments and safety. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiology certification program.
• ARRT registration.
• SCRQSA certification (South Carolina).

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic procedures applying ionizing radiation.

• Demonstrate competency in specialized imaging and troubleshoot equipment.
• Obtain nursing assessments when needed and assess patient cooperation.
• Notify nurse and document infiltrates; quality check images before reading.
• Document information in PACS/EPIC and mark studies ready to read.
• Restart and manage IVACs; respond to codes and emergencies.
• Promote patient care and safe equipment use; ensure smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with department staff to cover shortages and staffing needs.
• Inform patients of delays and delays to ER procedures.

Job description

Your Role

Here's what you will be doing:

• Perform a variety of radiographic procedures applying ionizing radiation.
• Assist in ERCPs, video fluoroscopies, OR procedures, lumbar punctures, bronchoscopies, enterocolitis, sialograms, rhizotomy, facet blocks, endoscopy-tube placements or injections, t-tube cholangiogram, major trauma/trauma bay, neonatal ICU, pacing lab, and all critical care procedures.
• Demonstrate competency in arthrograms, myelograms, venograms, minor trauma, and troubleshoot complex studies and equipment problems.
• Obtain nursing assessments when nursing is unavailable; assess patient condition and cooperation to determine proper care.
• Notify nurse and document all infiltrates and reactions; quality check images before sending to radiologist including markers and pertinent information.
• Document additional information in PACS or EPIC as needed before marking ready to read.
• Restart, program, and release air from patient IVACs; respond appropriately to codes and emergency situations.
• Promote patient care and safety; ensure smooth patient flow and proper use of equipment and materials.
• Work collaboratively within the department to maintain good employee, physician, and supervisor relationships; assist with staffing needs due to shortages, FMLA, PTO, and sick time.
• Inform patients and families of delays, including ER room procedures delayed more than 30 minutes.
• Charge procedures and supplies upon exam completion; operate PACS system appropriately and verify studies before archiving.
• Achieve patient satisfaction according to Prisma Health standards and adhere to Behavior Essentials set by patient experience teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About You
