Job summary

CHI St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, OR is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging exams including X-rays, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI. You will ensure imaging quality, patient comfort, and adherence to radiology protocols while supporting a positive patient experience.

Candidates should be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with customer-service experience and current AHA BLS certification; ARRT radiography certification is preferred upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Proven experience in Customer Service.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic images to assist Radiologists in diagnosis and patient management.
• Performs X-rays, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI exams while ensuring patient comfort.
• Adheres to protocols, verifies orders, and coordinates with PACS/RIS for accurate results.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures effective cooperation during imaging.
• Maintains room readiness, completes paperwork, and supports team communication.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Demonstrates Competence And Proficiency With Equipment In Various Locations, To Include Emergency Room, Surgery, Portables, C-Arms, Fluoroscopy And Tomography, In Performing Radiological Exams And Procedures.
• Always identifies self to the patient, and verifies patient identity and physician’s order for requested exam. For inpatients always reviews chart to verify physician order and as a result unnecessary patient radiation can be avoided
• Thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient, while allowing the opportunity for questions concerning the procedure. As a result patient cooperation is gained.
• Always performs exams following protocols established by the Radiologist and as a result, views, number of views, positions, and projections will be consistent.
• Always completes each assigned exam to include: room set up, turning in paper work and previous films if unable to be downloaded to the PACS system, for interpretation by the radiologist, and cleaning of the room and closing the exam in the RIS and PACS.
• Continually demonstrates cooperative and good rapport with fellow technologist and staff, recognizing the need for excellent communication skills in order for efficient patient service.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
• Proven experience in Customer Service
• Current AHA Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred

• ARRT Certification in Radiography or one of the following specializations upon hire:
  • Bone Densitometry
  • Computed Tomography
  • Cardio Interventional Radiography
  • Mammography
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Quality Management
  • Radiation Therapy
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography
  • Vascular Sonography.

Pay Range

$33.28 - $47.25 /hour
