The Role

Performs surveillance of radiological work areas to detect and document the level and type of ionizing radiation/radioactivity in accordance with radiological control regulations. Performs and documents air, water, solid and surface radioactivity/radiation surveys using instruments designed to detect type and level of activity. Determines usage and maintenance of nuclear containment apparatus. Responds to radiological incidents to ensure employee and environmental safety.

Must Have

A candidate must have successfully completed the NNS RadCon Monitor Trainee program which is specifically defined and required by the Navy and have at least 2 years experience as a RCT.

Nice to Have

preferred completion of re-qualification exams and a Department of Defense Confidential Clearance
