Job summary

Responsibilities

• Functions as an assistant to the professional technologist in that modality.
• Conforms to safety standards dictated by regulatory agencies (OSHA, safety manuals).
• Maintains clean work environment and supplies; keeps imaging equipment ready.
• Performs patient care activities as delegated and supervised by staff.
• Assists Technologist with room prep, stocking, cleaning, and patient transport.
• Responds effectively in emergencies and helps prevent patient injury; CPR when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose: Under the Direction of the professional staff, assists with patient care to provide support services to the patient, Radiology unit, and professional staff.

Proficiency Level

• Functions as an assistant to the professional technologist in that modality.
• Conforms to safety standards dictated by regulatory agencies i.e. safety manuals, MSD sheets, OSHA issues.
• Maintains clean work environment, adequate equipment and supplies: All Imaging Equipment is kept in good working condition; Related supplies are kept clean, and are at desired par levels.
• Performs patient care activities delegated and supervised by the professional staff: Patient transport performed by (i.e. wheelchair, stretcher, or bed) utilizing appropriate safety techniques to prevent patient and self-injury;
• Assists Technologist with room prep, stocking supplies, cleaning, and moving and transport of patients.
• Respond effectively in emergencies and assists in prevention of patient injury: Initiates CPR when appropriate; Utilizes side rails and restraints to prevent patient injury; Reports to professional staff patients at increased risk for injury.
