Job summary

Sports Warehouse, Inc. is seeking a part-time Racquet Service Specialist in Alpharetta, GA, on-site. You will string racquets, inspect for damage, and perform related maintenance with training provided. Weekend shifts may be required, and a focus on accuracy and safety is essential.

Purpose of Position

Perform basic racquet preparation and maintenance, including stringing and other racquet services.

Requirements

* Prior knowledge of how to string a tennis racquet is a plus but not a requirement. We will provide all training necessary to learn how to successfully string racquets.

Duties and Responsibilities

Racquet Service

• Carefully and efficiently install strings according to racquet specifications.
• Identify possible damage or defects to racquets and/or strings and make an assessment of the necessary corrective actions.
• Repair and/or replace accessories as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Other duties deemed necessary to support daily operations of Sports Warehouse.
• Communicate effectively and behave professionally.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This role functions within a professional and collaborative office setting, regularly utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, tablets and phones for day-to-day tasks. The use of racquet stringing machines and related tools/supplies may also be required to support the needs of the business.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Stringing a racquet requires repetitive motions like threading, pulling and knotting strings.
• Requires standing for long periods of time and use of hands, fingers, wrists, and arms while stringing racquets.
• Must be able to handle and grip delicate tools, such as pliers and clamps, and demonstrate manual dexterity, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to string racquets.
• Regularly required to handle objects, type on a computer, use tablets, phones and/or computer software.
• Communicate effectively to exchange information, coordinate workflow, and support operational and safety needs.
• The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Regularly lift and/or move objects that weigh less than ten pounds, occasionally lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds, with heavier lifting infrequent and assisted when appropriate.
• Occasionally required to stoop, bend, twist, reach, kneel, crouch or climb.
• Work in an office environment that may include moderate noise levels and proximity to others.
• Ability to work a scheduled shift and maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policies.
• Ability to adapt to changing job duties and business needs.
