The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.
Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.
FMI is seeking a proactive, energetic Systems Engineering Program Manager with proven leadership skills to deliver high temperature composite hot structures and thermal protection systems from concept through NPI. As the Systems Engineering Program Manager, you will be accountable for the overall portfolio of Advanced Programs efforts; alignment, coordination and structured maturation of multiple development and demonstration programs supporting company strategic growth and business plans. The Systems Engineering Program Manager will be expected to interface with the cross-functional project teams to ensure programs are executed within FMI’s gated technology development process and will be responsible for leading the verification of program plans, including baselining as well as program execution within the approved cost, schedule, quality and technical deliverables. As a leader within the Advanced Programs organization, additional duties will include developing and deploying Technical Project Management processes and tools in collaboration with the Program, Business Development and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
