Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Elyria, OH is seeking a Repair and Overhaul (R&O) Technician for the 1st shift. You will test, repair, modify and overhaul customer returned units per manuals, blueprints and FAA requirements.

You’ll select parts, reassemble, solder and test to ensure quality and compliance with ISO 9001. Requirements include 1–5 years in electronic overhaul, reading manuals in English, and proficiency with hand tools and bench test equipment.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years in overhaul, modification and repair of electronic components.
• Experience with pumps teardown/assembly preferred.
• Able to read manuals, blueprints and written instructions in English.
• FAA repairman certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Test, evaluate, estimate and repair or overhaul customer returned units to specifications.
• Select and requisition replacement parts as needed.
• Reassemble units and replace parts, including soldering and testing.
• Record time, parts and work quality on paperwork and in ISO 9001 processes.
• Participate in continuous process improvement with the team.

Hours are Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm.

Job Summary

To test, evaluate, estimate, and perform the repair, modification or overhaul of customer returned units to manufacturing specifications using maintenance manuals, test procedures, manufacturing outlines, blueprints, or schematics, per customer requirements and in compliance with all FAA regulations.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for diagnostic testing, evaluating, troubleshooting, and estimating the time and parts that are required to complete the repair, modification, or overhaul.
• Responsible for selecting and requisitioning replacement parts as required.
• Responsible for reassembling units and replacing parts, including soldering, potting, and testing as required to complete the repair, modification, or overhaul.
• Accountable for the time, parts, and quality of work performed on the unit and the accurate recording of these on all applicable paperwork.
• Responsible to perform work within all related ISO 9001 work instructions and procedures.
• Responsible to continuously pursue process improvement and cooperatively participate in all team activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-5 years experience in the overhaul, modification, and repair of electronic components. Experience in (centrifugal or displacement) pumps teardown and assembly highly preferred.
• Must have the ability to read, understand, and follow manuals blueprints, and all written work instructions and procedures in English.
• Must be able to use all hand tools, soldering irons, and all bench test equipment.
• Must be able to function and participate in a team environment.
• FAA repairman's certificate preferred but not required.
• Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
