Job summary

Emanate Health is seeking a Per Diem RN for the Cath Lab, Days, 8-hour shifts, at our Covina location. The role includes cardiovascular nursing assessment, direct and indirect patient care in the cath lab, and close collaboration with physicians and the team to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, inventory control, participation in PI/QA activities, and strict medication accountability.

Qualifications

• RN license required in California
• BLS certification required
• ACLS required
• CCR N preferable
• 1 year cardiovascular or ICU experience preferred
• IABP experience preferred
• Weekend work may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiovascular and nursing assessment during invasive cardiac diagnostic/interventional cath lab procedures
• Provide direct/indirect patient care in the cardiac cath lab
• Communicate continuously with physicians and team about patient condition
• Maintain cath lab equipment and inventory; participate in PI and QA activities
• Ensure accurate medication accountability; respond to emergencies as needed

Contributes nursing expertise in the development of policies, procedures, and standards of patient care. Utilizes nursing skills to determine the biophysical, psychological, environmental, self care and educational needs of the patient/family/significant other to develop, implement and revise the plan of care. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the cardiac cath lab. Communicates with the physicians and the team continuously about the patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of the cardiac cath lab equipment and inventory and participates in PI and continuous QI activities. Responsible for ongoing accurate medication accountability. Recognizes and initiates appropriate actions in emergency situations.# **Job Requirements**#### **Minimum Experience Requirement:**All (1) newly graduated nurses, (2) re-entry nurses, and (3) nurses new to the U.S. healthcare system must satisfactorily complete the Emanate Health R.N. New Grad Program. One (1) year experience cardiovascular or coronary or intensive care preferred. IABP exper ence preferred.
