Job summary

Lumicity is seeking a hands-on Robotics / Vehicle Technician in San Francisco to join a fast-paced prototype environment. You will assemble, install, and troubleshoot mechanical systems, wire high- and low-voltage harnesses, and support sensor and electronics integration on advanced autonomous electric vehicles.

The role focuses on building prototype vehicles, integrating LiDAR and cameras, and enabling field deployments and testing with cross-functional mechanical, electrical, and software

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on technician experience in robotics, automotive, EVs, aerospace, motorsports, or similar hardware environments.
• Strong mechanical skills across vehicle assembly, drivetrains, suspension, bearings, fasteners, and alignment.
• Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Strong hands-on problem-solving skills and the ability to work quickly in a prototype environment.
• Experience troubleshooting 12–48V electrical systems and safely working with high-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems including chassis, suspension, drivetrain, and enclosures.
• Build, route, and terminate low- and high-voltage wiring harnesses according to schematics and engineering drawings.
• Perform mechanical fabrication, including drilling, cutting, tapping, bracket installation, basic machining, and custom hardware fitting.
• Support integration of sensors, computing systems, actuators, cameras, LiDAR, GNSS, ECUs, motor controllers, and power electronics.
• Integrate advanced hardware including LiDAR, cameras, GNSS, ECUs, motor controllers, and power electronics.
• Support field deployments, demonstrations, and testing.

Job description

I am seeking a highly skilled Robotics / Vehicle Technician to support the assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and field deployment of advanced autonomous electric vehicles and hardware systems. This hands-on role is ideal for a technician with experience in robotics, automotive, electric vehicles and heavy equipment. You will be working closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teas to build prototype vehicles, integrate sensors and electronics, troubleshoot issues, and rapidly iterate on designs.
