Job summary

GAF Materials Corp. in Georgetown, TX, is seeking an R&D Technician II who will perform material analysis, conduct testing, and report results clearly to teammates and stakeholders.

You will document methods, maintain lab equipment, support safety procedures, and assist in root cause investigations and raw material qualifications; an AA degree and lab experience are required, with a BA/BS preferred.

For more information about GAF Energy, visit www.gaf.energy.**Job Summary** We are looking for a R&D Technician II who will perform analysis on sample material, perform various testing activities, and communicate results effectively **Essential Duties*** Evaluate roofing and building materials for quality performance characteristics* Report meaningful and unbiased conclusions based on evaluations* Assist in root cause investigations* Assist in raw material qualifications* Perform chemical and physical property testing and experiments* Maintain documentation accurately and completely* Maintain laboratory equipment in an operable and calibrated condition* Assure all activities are performed safely* Contribute to Job Safety Analysis and Standard Operating Procedure development**Qualifications Required*** Associate’s Degree (AA) 2 + years of relevant experience* 2 + years of experience as a lab technician in a manufacturing environment* Experience with material science, statistics, and quality functions* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suites**Qualifications Preferred*** Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in science or engineeringBase salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
