Job summary

The R&D Technician at Westlake Chemical provides laboratory and engineering support to advance product development. This role combines lab execution with administrative coordination to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities include lab support tasks, project coordination, and SAP transaction processing. The ideal candidate has an Associate degree and strong technical skills. This is a fully onsite role requiring commuting to the Leola and Wayne, PA offices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred in a technical field.
• Experience through technical programs, labs, or internships required.
• Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Exposure to lab operations or shop environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineering activities as primary lab technician.
• Prepare materials for development trials and testing.
• Assemble and test pipe samples for R&D.
• Process SAP transactions and track project expenditures.

Skills

Technical aptitude (machining, welding, measurement tools)

Hands-on experience in labs or internships

Strong organizational skills

General computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Education

Associate degree in a technical field (engineering technology, etc.)

Tools

SAP or similar ERP systems
