Job summary

FastTrack Staffing seeks an experienced R&D Technician to support the development of personal care and hair styling formulations in a Jacksonville lab. You will prepare batches, run organoleptic and physical tests, and document results carefully according to SOPs and GLP/GMP standards.

The role requires an associate degree in chemistry, cosmetic science, biology, or related field, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare lab batches of hair styling and personal care formulations per R&D protocols.
• Perform organoleptic and physical testing (appearance, color, odor, pH, viscosity, SPG, etc.) on lab batches.
• Manage and execute stability/testing protocols, including sample prep, storage, and data tracking.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests and performance evaluations.
• Maintain accurate lab notebooks, batch records, and test reports.
• Request raw materials and documentation (COAs, SDS, etc.) from vendors/distributors.
• Support QC with testing, documentation, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Assist in raw material evaluations and ingredient documentation.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Regulatory, and Quality to support timelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab environment per GLP, GMP, and safety protocols.

Job description

We are hiring for an R&D Technician on the southside of Jacksonville for an established manufacturer. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive R&D Technician to support our Research & Development team in the formulation, testing, and documentation of innovative personal care and hair styling products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare lab batchesof hair styling and personal care formulations according to R&D protocols.
• Performorganoleptic and physical testing(Appearance, color, odor, pH, viscosity, SPG, etc.)of lab batches.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required Associates in chemistry, cosmetic Science, biology, or a related field.
• Familiarity withformulation equipment(e.g., mixers, homogenizers, viscometers, pH meter).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow SOPs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biology, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a cosmetic, personal care, or pharmaceutical lab environment preferred.
