Job summary

Lyons Magnus, LLC in Fresno, CA is seeking an R&D Technician to support product development and related activities in a lab/office environment. The position is full-time with hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and located in Fresno, CA.

The role involves assisting with sensory, chemical and physical analyses, supporting senior scientists, and training other technicians. Requires a HS diploma or associate's degree with 3–5 years (HS) or 1–3 years (Assoc).

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

A member of the Product Development department, a food service and healthcare product division at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California. The R&D Technician is responsible for support in the areas of product development and related activities

Pay: $24.00/hour

Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Location: Fresno, CA

Requirements

• Analyzes sensory, chemical and physical characteristics of lab, pilot plant and production samples using a refractometer, PH meter, viscometer and other instruments.
• Supports Product Development scientist, technical manager, technologist and pilot plant activities.
• Plans and conducts a complete project of significant scope.
• Communicates results of tasks in oral and written form.
• Often trains other technicians in variety of complex techniques.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
• Ability to handle complex duties and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
• Knowledge of food and beverage manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in sciences
• Experience: 3-5 years of related experience (High school only); 1-3 years of related experience (Associate's degree)
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science or related discipline
• Working knowledge of food and beverage manufacturing operations, including experience with kettle mixers, scales, and micro lab processes
