Job summary

Actalent is seeking an R&D Technician in Columbus, OH, to support scientists with daily lab tasks, sample preparation, and minor testing. You will follow SOPs and ensure data integrity through timely documentation in a GMP-aligned environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or Associate's degree in Science, lab experience, and the ability to work in a team. Onsite, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with potential flexibility; competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Job Title: R&D Technician

Job Description

The R&D Technician will support scientists with daily laboratory tasks and preparation. This role involves sample preparation, weighing samples, minor lab testing, cleaning glassware, and stocking inventory in the R&D labs. The technician will follow work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company practices, ensuring the integrity of data through accurate and timely documentation of analytical activities and results. They will also follow written analytical procedures, identify execution challenges, and support troubleshooting activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist scientists with daily lab tasks and preparation.

  • Perform daily sample preparation and weighing.

  • Conduct minor lab testing, including pH, dilutions, and wet chemistry.

  • Clean glassware and stock inventory in the R&D labs.

  • Follow work instructions, SOPs, and company practices.

  • Accurately document analytical activities and results in a timely manner.

  • Maintain the integrity of data.

  • Identify execution challenges of analytical methods and support troubleshooting activities.

Essential Skills
  • Experience in dilutions, sample preparation, and wet chemistry.

  • Knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, titration, pH, and viscosity.

  • Familiarity with gas chromatography.

Work Environment

The team consists of Scientist I's, II's, and III's, working collaboratively to accomplish tasks, with opportunities to work independently. The lab is state-of-the-art and maintains a clean GMP environment. The dress code is business casual. The shift is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential flexibility for a 7:30 or 8:00 AM start time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
