Job summary

Merck in Rahway, NJ offers the Future Talent Program for Co-op students within Global Support and Sourcing & Procurement. The six-month program includes multiple projects, exposing you to market intelligence, RFIs, RFPs/E-auctions, and cost modeling while collaborating with Legal, Finance, and procurement teams to build negotiation and reporting skills.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s in business or related fields, with strong communication, data analysis, and MS Office capabilities;

Qualifications

• Bachelors in business, supply chain or related field (MBA preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work across teams.
• Excellent data collection, analysis and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with SharePoint and enterprise social tools (Yammer).

Responsibilities

• Support procurement objectives including sourcing, risk management and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procure-to-Pay and suppliers.
• Conduct market analyses to provide insights.
• Execute RFIs, RFPs/E-auctions and cost modeling.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract compliance.
• Support budget planning and monthly spend reporting.
