Job Overview

This role is designed for a deeply technical expert who can translate advanced microbiological research into practical, scalable solutions within regulated manufacturing environments. You will help shape next‑generation control materials and biomaterials that support pharmaceutical, biopharma, and diagnostic markets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead research initiatives in microbiology and molecular biology to develop next‑generation control materials and biomaterials used across broad clinical and industrial markets.
  • Apply expertise in genetic engineering, cloning, and molecular characterization to design and evaluate biological materials for use in emerging and highly sensitive assay platforms.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the selection, characterization, and application of microorganisms and biomaterials for regulated product development.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging scientific and regulatory trends relevant to microbiological and molecular control materials.
  • Design and oversee characterization studies, risk assessments, and validation strategies for new products and biomaterials.
  • Document research activities to support design controls, verification, validation, scale‑up, and technology transfer into GMP manufacturing.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless transition from research to commercial production.
  • Author and review technical documentation including risk assessments for handling risk‑group II and III agents.
  • Support sterility assurance programs and biopharma contamination control strategies.
  • Participate in industry committees, standards development activities, white papers, and scientific presentations.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related life science discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in applied molecular or microbiological research.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience in molecular biology, including genetic engineering and molecular characterization, with the ability to design and interpret experiments at both gene and systems‑level scales; familiarity with genomics or other omics‑based approaches preferred.
  • Experience operating in BSL‑2 laboratory environments; additional containment experience is a plus.
  • Experience working within regulated or quality‑driven development environments supporting biological products.
  • Demonstrated ability to author and review technical documentation, laboratory protocols, risk assessments, and scientific reports.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Who Thrives Here
