Barnhardt Manufacturing Company seeks an Laboratory Technician to assist chemists and senior staff in R&D and quality control activities. You will work with lab scale polyurethane systems, perform batch tests, and manage data documentation.

Strong attention to safety and process discipline is required. The role involves maintaining spray areas, calibrating equipment, and supporting root-cause analysis with chemists and sales as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires at least a high school diploma or GED with <2 years vocational/technical training, or an associate degree in science preferred.
• Minimum three months related experience and/or training; wet lab and chemistry experience prioritized.
• Experience spraying chemicals and mixing formulations is preferred; ability to read Certificates of Analysis and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist chemists and senior staff in performing lab functions for R&D and QA under supervision.
• Prepare and test lab-scale polyurethane systems and batches.
• Record results in lab books, data sheets, and data systems; generate charts/reports.
• Maintain spray application rooms and equipment, clean and reassemble spray guns, and set up timelines for tests.
• Release or hold batches based on specifications and troubleshoot if needed.
• Calibrate equipment and maintain calibration records for inspectors.
• Ensure laboratory cleanliness and supply inventory; daily/weekly housekeeping and safety compliance.
