Job summary

Novartis is seeking an Associate Director of R&D Portfolio and Engagement Communications at the Cambridge, MA site. You will craft and execute communications strategies to tell our R&D pipeline story, engaging internal and external audiences to bolster confidence in our medicines.

You will lead pipeline communications, manage media engagement and issues management, and partner with Business Development and Investor Relations to support quarterly reporting and announcements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
• 8+ years in communications role focusing on R&D, media, pipeline communications.
• Proven track record developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
• Ability to influence at senior levels and navigate complexity.

Responsibilities

• Develop communications strategies to tell our R&D pipeline story.
• Manage pipeline news flow through internal and external comms.
• Coordinate regular touchpoints with teams and data milestones.
• Support media engagement related to the R&D pipeline.
• Position Novartis collaborations and acquisitions with BD and IR teams.
• Support quarterly reporting and investor relations materials.
• Monitor external environment and stakeholder needs.
• Track programs and measure impact against goals.
