Job summary

Viant Medical in Fremont, CA seeks an R&D Project Manager to lead medical device programs from discovery through design transfer, ensuring customer needs are met and budgets are controlled.

You will coordinate internal teams and external partners, drive risk management, and document plans with MS Project, Smartsheet and JIRA. Strong communication and technical background in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering is desired; Masters preferred.
• 1–3 years of medical device product design and development experience.
• Familiarity with FDA and ISO 13485 medical device regulations and standards.
• Working knowledge in CAD modeling, DOE, PCBA development and other technical areas.
• Strong communication, concise and professional verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from discovery to design transfer, owning milestones and deliverables.
• Manage information flow among team members, management and clients.
• Identify and communicate project risks related to scope, timeline and budget.
• Organize, delegate and track tasks across internal teams and external partners.
• Lead design reviews and risk management documentation.
• Maintain detailed project documentation throughout R&D phases.
• Engage stakeholders with effective communication and negotiation.
