R&D Lab Technician – Process Development & Testing

Job summary

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find an R&D Lab Technician to work a 1-year contract likely to be extended in Aurora, NC. This Laboratory Technician position is responsible for sample retrieval in the field, preparation of sampling, and reporting.

In addition, with this being a start-up plant, the lab tech will be responsible for assisting in creation of the processes, SOPs and development of the lab. This is a 12-hour shift rotating shift.

Qualifications

• Experience following chemistry testing techniques.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in a chemical setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and PPE guidelines.
• Desire to collaborate to improve processes & product quality.
• Flexible approach to shifting schedules and tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot lab equipment and processes.
• Calibration of laboratory instruments.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab activities: set up equipment, prepare chemical solutions.
• Conduct tests, analyze data, compile reports and present conclusions.
• Document all test results and record variables (chemical type, amount, temp, duration).
• Adhere to safety standards during testing; wear PPE.
• Assist in improving formulations of products and scaling lab processes.
• Calibrate equipment and maintain lab instrumentation.
