Job summary

Aerovent Fan Company, Inc. is seeking a Lab Technician in Plymouth, MN, responsible for testing and assembling fans and ventilators. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and 1-3 years of experience in sheet metal construction or equivalent.

This full-time position offers hourly pay of $21.00–26.00 based on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package, such as medical, dental, vision, and 401K with employer match.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience with sheet metal construction techniques, welding, forming, or equivalent.
• Drafting or blueprint experience is strongly desired.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Senior Laboratory Technician and/orSupervisor, set up and test different types of commercial and industrial fans, ventilators and related equipmentevaluatingair, sound and mechanical performance.
• Performs assembly and modification of fans and associated equipmentusinghand tools, pneumatic tools, electric drills, impact wrenches, welding equipment, grinders, torches, and similar devices
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move, lift, and position materials while following all safety protocols and maintaining awareness of surroundings and load limits.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and bills of materials to verify correct parts selection and ensure assemblies are completed accurately and in alignment with design requirements.
• Supports the efficient flow of materials through the shipping and receiving department, including loading and unloading trucks, and inspecting, labeling, and processing incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Perform dimensional verificationof productsaccording to TCF engineering, manufacturing and quality standards.
• Inspect, assemble, and set up test units in the UL 705 motor safety testing facility and high temperaturesystem.
• Wire electric motors to the facility electrical supply circuits via disconnect switches, conduit boxes.
• Identifies root causes of equipment malfunctions and implements effective corrective actions.
• Act with integrity and professionalism consistent with the company’s values

Preferred Qualifications

• Drafting or blueprint experience is strongly desired.
• Experience with testingand assemblyof mechanical equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem ‑ solving skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 quality management systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Ability to occasionallyliftand move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, and stand.
• Ability to work extended hoursstanding on concrete floor orsitting at a computer.

As a Lab Technician you will be offered pay of $21.00-26.00/hour dependent on experience. You will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus tied to overall performance of the organization.
