Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree or two years of vocational/technical training required.
• Mechanical aptitude and practical mechanical skills required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required.
• Four-year degree in a technical field preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience or experience with composites, nonwovens, and/or technical textiles preferred.
• Ability to work safely with laboratory chemicals, equipment, and required PPE.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and use PPE as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and conduct laboratory and field tests, analyses, and evaluations in support of R&D programs.
• Perform analytical and testing work independently and document results.
• Record observations, maintain databases, and prepare reports and charts.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and assist with repair of laboratory equipment.
• Provide mechanical support for experimental programs and assist with computations, drawings, and technical reports.
