Job summary

Kayem Foods in Chelsea, MA is seeking an entry-level R&D Technical Services Intern to support the Research & Development team with product testing, quality assurance, and development initiatives. This temporary role offers hands-on learning in a plant setting and exposure to product trials and culinary presentations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School degree or higher.
• Some culinary skills preferred.
• Analytical skills and good math and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and detail orientation.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic plant environment.
• Comfortable working in a production/plant setting.

Responsibilities

• Shelf-life testing coordination with external laboratories and internal testing.
• Prepare documentation, samples, lab reports, and composite results.
• Draft product specifications and maintain a specifications database.
• Internal QA lab testing and submitting testing requests.
• Use Fat analyzer for tests when resources are limited.
• Assist on small/large scale product testing and culinary presentations.
• Organize product evaluations and present findings to customers.
