Job summary

KCC Companies is seeking an R&D laboratory technician to perform precision HVAC testing in our Simpsonville, KY facility. You will set up test units, operate psychrometric chambers, swap components, troubleshoot UUTs, and maintain test conditions under development with engineers.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or 3–5 years HVAC/R experience, knowledge of LabSys and RTS, EPA license achievable within 6 months, and strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 3–5 years HVAC/R related experience; EPA license target within 6 months.
• Experience with evacuating and charging; brazing/welding a plus.
• Proficiency with LabSys and RTS software required within 6 months.
• Strong mechanical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Execute setup and takedown for test units, pilots, sleds and component testing in psychrometric chambers and test stands.
• Oversee, conduct, monitor and troubleshoot testing sequences.
• Conduct repairs, component swaps, and troubleshooting for units under test.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering activities and provide timely support to internal/external customers.
• Provide recommendations to improve system operation, equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
• Interface with management, customer service, clients and other technicians to resolve technical problems.
• Maintain safety and compliance with industry standards and company policies.
