Job summary

Don's Prepared Foods in Schwenksville, PA is seeking an R&D/Product Development Technician to support bench development, shelf-life studies, and recipe documentation in a fast-paced food-manufacturing setting. This hourly, non-exempt role starts at 7:30 AM, Monday–Friday.

You will execute defined technical tasks, organize records, coordinate trials, and assist in nutritionals and label validation, collaborating with the R&D team to drive product improvements from concept to launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, or related field; associate degree considered.
• Strong interest in food product development and trends.
• Able to learn procedures and execute tasks after training.

Responsibilities

• Bench development and lab operations: prepare iterations and document changes.
• Set up bench trials, maintain organized ingredients and equipment.
• Assist with generating product samples and labeling for trials.
• Manage shelf-life studies and sensory testing coordination.
• Coordinate ingredient documentation and supplier workflow with Purchasing.
• Maintain R&D records, templates, and nutritionals for labels.
