Job Description And Position Requirements

The Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Engineering Division of Applied Research Lab (ARL) is looking for a highly motivated Research and Development Engineer Intern to assist with various activities in the Materials Science Division.

Typical duties for a broad range of programs involving gear train technology, additive manufacturing, powder processing, cold spray manufacturing, robotics, testing, modeling and simulation, and characterization include assisting with:

• Material synthesis


• Device fabrication


• Process simulation for fabrication


• Development of advanced materials and material systems

The successful candidates will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours/week over the summer. This is a paid internship located remotely in Pittsburgh, PA.

ARL’s purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). For further information on ARL, visit our website at www.arl.psu.edu.
