Crown in Louisville is seeking an experienced Research and Development Engineer II to advance new products, processes and prototypes in tribology. You will design, test, and iterate with engineering teams to translate concepts into deliverable solutions.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 3+ years of related experience, strong communication, CAD skills, and the ability to work across labs and pilots in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to communicate design and prototype concepts with sketching and CAD.
• Able to review 3D models and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and processes through research, design, prototype creation, testing, and evaluation.
• 3D design and drawing creation
• Project management and logistical duties for innovation projects
• Collaborate with engineers to create prototypes for testing, analysis, and fabrication
• Prepare summary reports and data plots to communicate results and progress
