Job summary

Timken seeks an R&D Engineer to develop and validate bearing products, materials, and processes, enhancing performance, durability, and cost efficiency while complying with industry standards. The role focuses on innovation, product lifecycle management, and problem-solving across design, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of bearing design, development, manufacturing, or related engineering experience.
• Strong tribology principles and bearing design knowledge.
• Experience with data analysis, testing protocols, and performance validation.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and influence senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new plain bearing products (journal bearings, bushings, thrust washers).
• Conduct feasibility studies for new materials (bronze, babbitt, PTFE-lined, polymer composites).
• Improve existing products for performance, load capacity, wear resistance, and lubrication efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and sales for product development.
