Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering principles, measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document and maintain calibration systems, procedures and methods for dimensional inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IMTE) based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements.
  • Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures.
  • Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes.
  • Maintain calibration laboratory and/or departmental accreditation, and quality system.
  • Develop and validate unique/new measurement applications and methodologies.
  • Develop measurement methods and techniques for new products using state‑of‑the‑art contact and non‑contact measuring equipment and related software.
  • Monitoring, calibrating, setup, training and operation of measurement equipment.
  • Evaluate new tools and/or software.
  • Troubleshooting causes of process failures and out‑of‑control/spec conditions.
  • Work closely with personnel responsible for other processes and organizations.
Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, other applicable engineering/science discipline or equivalent.
  • Strong technical writing capability and solid communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, commitment to task, creativity in problem solving.
  • Work collaboratively to solve difficult technical problems.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, PC architecture.
  • In‑depth knowledge of mechanical and dimensional measurements.
  • Be familiar with the ISO 17025 and/or Z‑540 standards and the process of accreditation.
  • Have knowledge and interest in the field of metrology and associated activities such as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Statistics and precision physical dimensional measurements.
  • Ability to develop an uncertainty budget in accordance with the GUM method.

Pay Range: USD $93,050.00 - $155,080.00 Year
