Job summary

Compass Group USA’s Union Square Events is hiring a full-time Cook - R&D in Brooklyn, NY. The role requires previous research and development, cooking, and food service experience, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule. You will develop recipes, test portions, and ensure quality and consistency across dishes.

Qualifications

• Previous research and development, cooking, and food service experience is required.
• Ability to read recipes and apply measurements and portions.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Maintains HACCP standards and proper storage of food and supplies.
• Assists in production planning, record keeping and ordering of all food and supplies as required.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures.
