Job summary

Omya Inc. is seeking a co-op student to apply advanced analytical skills to calcium carbonate analyses and products containing calcium carbonate.

The role involves using specialized instruments, logging samples, entering data, and reporting results within established methods. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment at the Omya Technology Center in Cincinnati, collaborating with scientists to improve experimental efficiency and generate meaningful trends from datasets for materials

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Science.
• Able to work on multiple projects under deadlines and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced and non-routine application tests and analysis using a variety of analytical techniques (e.g. particle size analysis, rheometers, spectroscopy).
• Participate in designing experiments/tests.
• Estimate resources and time required to conduct an experiment/test and monitor performance to ensure targets are met.
