Job summary

englewoodlab is seeking a Chemist to join the R&D - Skincare team. The role involves preparing batches, analyzing viscosity, pH, and density, maintaining lab notebooks, and entering formulations into the system.

You will interact with vendors, support stability studies, and collaborate with QA, Regulatory, Production and Marketing to drive product innovation. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Chemistry (or Biology with chemistry coursework), 0–3 years in skincare development, and possess

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (or Biology with coursework in general and organic chemistry).
  • 0–3 years of experience in R&D, formulation, and emulsions, ideally in skin care product development.
  • Well organized and highly detail-oriented.
  • Strong understanding of cosmetic raw materials, formulation principles, and production equipment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Genuine interest and passion for cosmetics and skin care product development.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10–15 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Create qualitative and quantitative ingredient lists.
  • Check next-day specifications against the previous day's batch.
  • Follow up on ongoing stability studies and report observations.

  • Enter formulations into the company's formulation system.
  • Communicate with raw material vendors and attend in-house vendor presentations.
  • Manage time effectively to meet batch, testing, and project deadlines.
  • Assist in the formulation and development of innovative skin care products, including line extensions and product improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as QA, Regulatory, Production, and Marketing.
  • Review results and progress regularly with the supervisor.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper organization of raw materials and samples.
  • Follow all laboratory safety, GMP, and internal quality standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

The approximate pay range for this position is $60,000 - $68,000. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities.
