Job summary

Element Solutions seeks an innovative R&D Chemist to join its global research team. You will develop new materials and formulations for electronic applications, emphasizing rigorous analytical work and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BA degree in inorganic or electrochemistry or polymer/materials science and 3+ years of technical research experience.
• Knowledge of physical and chemical analysis fundamentals.
• Experience in a R&D laboratory environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and formulate new surface treatment products for PCB, MIC, connectors and IC substrates.
• Maintain safety: uphold EH&S standards in lab activities.
• Review literature and patent materials for new resin systems and polymers.
• Prepare presentations and reports distilling complex ideas into actionable results.
• Participate in workgroups and meetings to address safety and process improvements.
• Communicate and document work clearly; mentor junior staff as needed.

We are seeking an innovative and scientifically curious R&D Chemist to join our global research and development team. What will you be doing?

• Hold self to the highest standards on safety. We are committed to building a strong safety culture in all laboratory and related activities.
• Research, develop, and formulate new surface treatment products for the printed circuit board, molded interconnect, connector and IC substrate industries.
• Have a basic understanding of the patent and literature for new resin systems, chemistry, and polymers across related technology areas.
• Help develop presentations/reports that distill complex ideas into precise results and proposals.
• Actively participate in workgroup team meetings to address safety, process improvement, problem-solving, and other workgroups, departments, and active topics.
• Receive mentoring from senior level scientists and technologists.
• Communicate and appropriately document work.
• Understand and follow appropriate EH&S standards, policies, and procedures applicable to their job.
• Carry out responsibilities under the organization's policies and applicable laws. Present a professional attitude and handle confidential information according to non-disclosure guidelines.
• Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.

What competencies will you need?

The typical base salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $71k and $90k annually.
