Job summary

Actalent is seeking an R&D Scientist I to conduct chemical and physical analyses in a GMP laboratory in Columbus, OH. This contract-to-hire role supports development and release testing for pharmaceutical products, with responsibilities spanning sample prep, titrations, instrument operation (HPLC, GC), and data documentation.

The successful candidate will follow cGXP, SOPs, and ensure accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Laboratory experience from coursework and labs.
• Experience with sample prep and dilutions in a chemistry lab.
• Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques (titrations, pH, viscosity).
• Ability to follow written procedures and SOPs with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation and handling for analytical testing.
• Prepare and weigh standards for quantitative methods.
• Carry out dilutions and wet chemistry per procedures.
• Conduct titrations, pH, and viscosity measurements.
• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation per methods.
• Support dose and pharmaceutical testing to ensure quality.
• Document all analytical activities accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with team of scientists to accomplish tasks.
• Maintain compliance with cGXP and SOPs.
• Troubleshoot methods and instrument issues.
