Job summary

Carbon Health Technologies Inc. Urgent Care Medical Assistant - Per Diem in Oakland. You will take vitals, gather history and triage, supporting procedures and patient care to ensure comfort and safety.

You’ll administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, run rapid tests, perform wound care and support front desk operations. MA certification and BLS preferred; DOT readiness encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification; willing to obtain DOT certification.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures and wound care.
• Administer medications and perform tests (EKG, labs).
• Handle front desk duties and patient flow.
• DOT screening training reimbursement; pursue DOT/BLS credentials.

Job description

Urgent Care Medical Assistant - Per Diem

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history and triaging
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, carry out ear lavages and run EKGs
• Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, rapid hiv testing
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed
• Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests

ABOUT YOU

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except in those locations(s) permitted by law for exemption with experience, diploma and/or national certification)
• Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
