Job summary

ABB is seeking an engineering intern in Houston, onsite/hybrid, to gain hands-on experience across projects. You will support ABB's operations, learn practical application of electrical knowledge, and contribute to quote creation and project execution under guidance from a Multi-Family Proposals Manager.

As a current student enrolled in a US engineering program, you will develop critical thinking, organization, and teamwork while balancing academic commitments.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Engineering in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to support ABB's operations and ensure timely project completion.
  • Leverage customer insights to identify solutions for clients and drive project results.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Seek feedback to improve performance and skills.

This position reports to:

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Houston, TX.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Collaborating with various teams to support ABB's operations, ensuring effective coordination and timely project completion within the defined timelines.
  • Leveraging insights about customer needs and ABB's offerings to identify suitable solutions for clients, leading to project results that meet customer expectations.
  • Participating in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative efforts.
  • Seeking feedback and guidance from manager and team members to improve performance and skills.
  • Learning and applying electrical knowledge to quote creation and project execution.

Qualifications for the role:

The hourly rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications, graduation year, and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
