Job summary

Shottenkirk KIA Fort Bend is seeking a Quick Lube Service Technician focused on fluid checks and basic maintenance. Typical duties include changing oil, inspecting transmission fluid and belts, and checking air levels and gauges.

You will diagnose issues and perform timely repairs to maintain vehicle performance. Ideal candidates have automotive knowledge, strong reading and math skills, and the ability to work with diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year in a service department is preferred.
• Ability to identify problems quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of automobiles and basic repair procedures.
• Comfort using electronic diagnostic tools and basic software.
• Strong reading, math, and computer skills.

This role will mainly be focused on fluid checks and basic maintenance. Typically, a Quick Lube Service Technician will change a vehicle's oil, check the transmission fluid and other fluid levels, inspect various belts and filters, and check air levels and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

Requirements
