Job summary

Landers McLarty Subaru of Huntsville is seeking Express Lane technicians to join our award-winning team in Huntsville, AL. Starting pay is $27,000 annually, with potential to earn up to $35,000 as you progress with dealership and Subaru of America training.

You will perform vehicle service and repairs as assigned, following safety procedures and factory standards. Ideal candidates will participate in manufacturer-sponsored training, maintain a clean workspace, and communicate with service

Qualifications

• Duties require ability to perform vehicle service and repairs as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Properly complete the service and/or repairs for which the technician is trained as assigned by management or their designated representative.
• Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
• Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary and checks tire pressure.
• Use shop tools and equipment provided by the service department.
• Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management.
• Perform work in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate with service advisor if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Maintain organized and clean workspace.
• Ensure customer vehicles are returned clean.
• Maintain grooming, hygiene and uniform standards.
• Aim to achieve production objectives set by management.
• Review technical bulletins and publications as assigned by management.
• Provide administrative assistance to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks.

Responsible for the actual service and/or repair of vehicles assigned to them by service management or their designated representatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Properly complete the service and/or repairs for which the technician is trained as assigned by management or their designated representative.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
• Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary. Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
• Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the service department.
• Participate in and utilize (to the best of ones ability) technical training as assigned by management. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Maintain the work space assigned in an organized and cleanly manner.
• Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Maintain personal grooming, hygiene and uniform standards according to departmental policy.
• Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.
• Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.
• Provide the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management.
• Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees.
• Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
