Meridial seeks a Quechua Language Expert to work as a freelance AI Trainer. This role involves shaping the future of AI by validating and enhancing language models through your expertise in Quechua.
You will analyze linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance while collaborating on dialects and nuances. This is a remote contract position.
The pay ranges from $8 to $65 per hour based on experience and qualifications, with no benefits provided.
Are you a Quechua language expert eager to shape the future of AI? Large-scale language models are evolving from clever chatbots into powerful tools for communication, education, and cultural preservation. With high-quality training data, tomorrow’s AI can accurately capture Quechua vocabulary, grammar, dialectical variations, and cultural context—helping preserve indigenous knowledge and support authentic linguistic interactions. That training data begins with you—we need your expertise to help power the next generation of AI.
We’re looking for Quechua language specialists who live and breathe regional dialects, phonetics, syntax, idiomatic expressions, oral traditions, and cultural references. You’ll challenge advanced language models on topics like contextual interpretation, tone and meaning, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance—documenting every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning.
On a typical day, you will converse with the model in Quechua across a wide range of topics, verify linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance, capture reproducible error traces, and suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
A Master’s degree in Linguistics, Indigenous Studies, Translation, or a related field is ideal; professional experience in teaching, translation, language documentation, or community work signals fit. Clear, metacognitive communication—“showing your work”—is essential.
We offer a pay range of $8‑to‑$65 per hour, with the exact rate determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offer amounts may vary from the pay range listed above. As a contractor you’ll supply a secure computer and high‑speed internet; company‑sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.
