Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team at SRM Materials. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial maintenance, with expertise in electrical systems, plumbing, welding, and heavy equipment.

Your work will keep our plant running smoothly and safely. You will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs, document activities, and coordinate with management and contractors.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, preferably in a quarry.
• Technical proficiency in electrical systems, plumbing and welding; relevant certifications preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and detail orientation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA/plant regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training a plus.
• Willingness to undergo SRM pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and systems to identify wear or malfunctions.
• Perform preventative maintenance per scheduled plan to minimize breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Use welding skills to fabricate or reinforce structures and equipment as needed.
• Coordinate with management to prioritize maintenance tasks by urgency and impact.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
• Stay up-to-date with maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with external contractors for complex repairs or installations.
• Support plant safety team by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.

About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team at SRM Materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance within a mine, with specific skills in electrical systems, plumbing, welding and heavy equipment machinery. This role is critical to ensure the continuous operation of our plant by performing regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to our facilities and machinery.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and systems to identify any signs of wear, malfunction, or other issues that could disrupt production.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to a scheduled plan, minimizing the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns or operational delays.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely and effective manner, ensuring minimal impact on production activities.
• Utilize welding skills to fabricate, repair, or reinforce plant structures and equipment as necessary.
• Collaborate with plant management to prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and impact on plant operations.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs completed, parts used, and time spent on each task, contributing to a comprehensive maintenance history for the plant.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest maintenance techniques and safety protocols to ensure that all work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
• Work closely with external contractors and specialists for complex repairs or installations that require specific expertise.
• Provide support to the plant safety team by identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.

What Sets You Apart

• Proven experience in a maintenance role within an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment. Experience at a Quarry is highly desirable.
• Technical proficiency in electrical systems, plumbing, and welding, with relevant certifications or qualifications preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to undertake complex repairs under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of occupational health and safety regulations applicable to a plant environment.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or a vocational degree in a related field is a plus.
• Willingness to undergo SRM's pre-employment screenings.
