Job summary

SiteOne Landscape Supply is seeking a Quarry Operator in the United States to safely operate heavy equipment and handle mulch, topsoil, soil amendments and other raw materials. You will load, offload and transport landscape supplies while maintaining situational awareness and MSHA-compliant safety practices.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and endurance for extreme weather.

Qualifications

• Experience operating equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, track loaders, articulating loaders, rubber tire wheel loaders, and/or excavators.
• Knowledge of safety and maintenance protocols for heavy equipment.
• Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds or more.
• Capable of working in extreme weather conditions.
• Experience in landscape, hardscape, forestry, nursery, or irrigation industry is a plus.
• Ability to read and write to record daily logs and maintain daily equipment checklists.

Responsibilities

• Run skid steer to retrieve raw material and move palletized products.
• Operate splitter with assistant to position pieces for breaking apart.
• Palletize finished product.
• Deliver processed stone to inventory locations.
• Tie off and tag finished pallets.
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace per MSHA regulations.
• Band pallets of finished product using banding device.

Position Overview

As part of our dedicated team, the Quarry Operator is responsible for safely and effectively operating heavy equipment to load, offload or transport landscape supplies such as mulch, topsoil, soil amendments, and raw materials. The Quarry Operator performs assigned tasks while maintaining situational awareness and a level of proficiency that minimizes the risk of personal injury or property damage.

• Run skid steer to retrieve raw material and move palletized products


• Operate splitter with assistant to maneuver pieces of raw material in position to break apart with splitter


• Palletize finished product


• Deliver processed stone to proper inventory locations


• Tie off and properly tag finished pallets


• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace per MSHA regulations


• Band pallets of finished product using banding device

Skills We Are Seeking

• Experience operating equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, track loaders, articulating loaders, rubber tire wheel loaders, and/or excavators, strongly preferred


• Knowledge of proper safety and maintenance protocols of the equipment aforementioned


• Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds or more


• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, snow, rain, etc.


• Experience in the landscape, hardscape, forestry, nursery, or irrigation industry is a plus


• Ability to read and write to record daily logs and maintain daily equipment checklists


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Must be 18 years of age or older
