Job summary

Grace Pacific LLC in Hawaii is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to work on site at our asphalt/construction operations. The role involves handling heavy machinery, loading/unloading, performing inspections, and maintaining safety standards.

Candidates should have 2-5 years of heavy equipment experience, CDL preferred, MSHA certification preferred, and be able to operate dozer, excavator, water truck, and front-end loader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years of heavy equipment operating experience. Experience with dozer, excavator, water truck, and front-end loader equipment preferred.
• Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract preferred; CDL endorsement preferred.
• MSHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows established company procedures to inspect equipment and report deficiencies in a timely manner; operates machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Compiles extracted debris in designated areas and keeps Manager informed of stockpile volumes so arrangements can be made for proper removal.
• Accepts/Rejects incoming loads of concrete and asphalt cold planed material and communicates with Dispatcher and/or Manager to charge appropriate tipping.
• Directs incoming loads to proper holding; alert manager to problem loads.
• Informs Manager of full recycle bins that need to be emptied and replacement bins inspected for damage before put into service.
• Performs miscellaneous duties such as trash removal, recycling operations, freight loading/unloading, and general housekeeping as requested.
• May assist with installation of property.
• May be assigned to tasks in the Recycle area, including operation of heavy equipment (i.e. forklift, excavator, hoeram, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Promotes awareness of and follows Company and safety policies.

Working Conditions

Equipment Use

Forklift certification preferred.

Communication Demands

Must have legible penmanship and be able to speak clearly over radio communication.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience 2-5 years of heavy equipment operating experience. Experience with dozer, excavator, water truck, and front-end loader equipment preferred.

Licenses Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract preferred; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) endorsement preferred.

Other Mine Safety and Health Association (MSHA) certified or previous miner certification preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude, fine motor control of blade adjustments, and familiarity with GPS or laser grading tools.
