Job summary

IBM Research is seeking a user experience design intern for the IBM Quantum initiative. You will help shape the user experience across digital products, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and designers to make quantum tools more accessible.

You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to design systems, and translate complex requirements into intuitive interfaces while delivering high-quality visuals with Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

Strong experience designing user flows, mockups, and interfaces with a user-centered approach.
Ability to translate constraints, user research, and needs into UI enhancements.
Strong visual design skills including typography and responsive design.
Excellent communication of design decisions to stakeholders and developers.
Experience with Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop for high-fidelity designs.
Experience reviewing mockups with end users and stakeholders for validation.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve the user experience of IBM Quantum across digital products and experiences.
Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver usable quantum computing tools for researchers and developers.
Contribute to design systems and maintain visual consistency across platforms.
Advocate for user needs and articulate design decisions to stakeholders and engineers.
