Northeastern University seeks exceptional faculty candidates to establish transformative research programs at the frontiers of quantum science and technology. Appointments may be in the College of Science or College of Engineering, with tenure homes in Physics or Electrical and Computer Engineering, starting academic year 2027-2028.

Qualifications

• Applicants across the full spectrum of quantum science and technology are welcome.
• Research at the intersection of quantum science and AI/ML is encouraged, at all ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor).
• Successful candidates will have tenure homes in Physics or Electrical and Computer Engineering beginning in academic year 2027-2028.
• We are filling up to three positions.
• Areas of interest include quantum networking and communication; quantum sensing, navigation and precision timing; and next-generation quantum computing.

Responsibilities

• Establish transformative research programs at the frontiers of quantum science and technology.
• Join Northeastern's Quantum Materials and Sensing Institute and contribute to cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Engage in teaching and mentorship at undergraduate and graduate levels across the College of Science and/or College of Engineering.
