Job summary

Quantinuum is seeking an R&D PhD Intern at our Broomfield, CO location to contribute to quantum computing research using trapped ions as qubits. You will work with scientists to translate concepts into experimental results, and you will gather data on performance, characterize devices, and propose improvements.

The role requires ongoing PhD enrollment and eligibility as a U.S. person due to contractual and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a PhD Program.
• Graduating on/after December 2027.
• U.S. Person per contractual requirements (citizen, PR, or green card).
• Not a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Apply previous research experience to measure and improve quantum computers using trapped ions as qubits.
• Collaborate with teams of scientists to bring new concepts to life.
• Collect data on system performance, characterize device characteristics, and propose improvements.
