Job summary

Sygaldry Technologies, Inc. is seeking a PhD-level researcher to advance theory and modeling of quantum computing hardware. You will develop qubit device models, evaluate architectures under realistic noise, and translate physics into concrete device specs.

You will lead cross‑disciplinary projects with physicists, engineers, and computer scientists. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in quantum hardware modeling, strong programming skills, and a track record of collaboration and publication.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, applied physics, CS, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience in theory and modeling of quantum computing hardware.
• Publications in quantum device physics, architecture, or related fields.
• Strong programming skills in scientific computing environments.
• Proven cross‑team collaboration track record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop theoretical and numerical models of qubit devices and gate operations.
• Design architectures under hardware constraints and noise models.
• Translate device physics into architecture-level requirements.
• Determine error budgets and fidelity requirements from targets.
• Build simulation and modeling tools for system design and planning.
• Collaborate with hardware team to inform device design and validate models.
• Lead high-impact research projects across a multidisciplinary team.
